This update fixes some intermittent issues with uploading photos and adds the ability to submit the debug log for troubleshooting directly from the plug-in. For a detailed list of changes in this version, see the Photobox plug-in home page.

This update fixes some glitches in the authorization process and add the ability to submit the debug log for troubleshooting directly from the plug-in. Most importantly, this version makes the plug-in compatible with Lightroom 3. However, due to an internal bug in Lightroom, the plug-in doesn’t work in Lightroom 3.0 for Mac OS.

Lots of new functionality is packed under the hood of the seemingly familiar  user interface. You can find a very detailed overview of the new features in Victoria Bampton’s blog.

One of the new features is the new Publish Services, a very important addition to Lightroom, which offers a completely new approach to the way we get our photos to online photo labs and photo galleries. You can learn about Publish Services from Jeffrey Friedl’s Article. Even though the article is focused primarily on his Export-to-Flickr Plug-in, it provides a very good general coverage of Publish Services and explains how you configure and use them.

For the last few months I’ve been learning the new concept and the new API that goes with it. In the next few days I am planning to release an update for my MobileMe Gallery Plug-in that will enable support for Publish Services. Also, other plug-ins will be updated to provide better support for Lightroom 3, and most of them will also support Publish Services!

However, there is a fine print! Considering the amount of time and sweat that went into the development and integration with the new API, I am planning to open support for Publish Services only to registered users.

Both Costco plug-ins also feature a fix for a mild annoyance with some photos taking their time (up to 5-10 minutes) to show up in the online album after the export.

A note for LR3 Beta users: due to some internal changes, Lightroom 3 Beta no longer displays the branding graphics at the top of the export dialog.

I, among thousands of other Lightroom fans can’t wait to get my hands on LR3, which appears to be scheduled for release around April. Many users, however, have already jumped the gun and started using the beta version not only for testing (as advised by Adobe), but for their photo processing needs as well. This release of my Adorama plug-in is an attempt to support their optimism and trust in a great product by giving them the ability to export photos from Lightroom 3 Beta to AdoramaPix.
This update also fixes a couple of issues with saving user choices and reusing server connection on subsequent exports.

There was a Mac user who reported an issue with the export dialog being too wide and truncated on the right-hand side. Unfortunately she didn’t reply to my requests to provide a screenshot. If anyone is experiencing the same issue, please send me a screenshot so I can see what’s going on.
