MobileMe plug-in version 1.17 is out
by Vlad on Jul.21, 2010, under MobileMe Gallery
Version 1.17 is available for download.
This update fixes instability issues caused by an intermittent behavior of the MobileMe service, which has worsened lately and started causing frequent failures. While implementing workaround for that issue I found a way to make the plug-in tolerant to users logging in and out of the MobileMe web service while using the plug-in. Now you can access your me.com mail and browse your galleries while the plug-in is uploading pictures.
Another addition, is the ability to submit debug logs for troubleshooting right from the plug-in. The Submit Debug Log button can be found on the Plug-in Info panel.
NOTE: Version 1.17 is not going to resolve the issue with Lightroom 3.0 for Mac (x64). For details, see the plug-in’s home page.

Version 1.16 is available for download.
This update restores the ability to use the plug-in after the recent change to the MobileMe online service (see the MobileMe Service Update post for details).
NOTE: Version 1.16 is not going to resolve the issue with Lightroom 3.0 for Mac (x64). For details, see the plug-in’s home page.
For details on other changes in the plug-in, please see the Version History section on the plug-in’s home page.
MobileMe Service Update
by Vlad on Jun.18, 2010, under MobileMe Gallery
Last night Apple rolled out of changes to their MobileMe service, including the new navigation via the “cloud” icon. Unfortunately, this has effectively disabled my plug-in and now I am going to need some time to solve the compatibility riddle once again. This should not take long, I expect to have a new version available by the evening.
Lightroom 3 Released
by Vlad on Jun.09, 2010, under Lightroom Plugins, MobileMe Gallery
June 8th 2010 – Adobe has finally released Lightroom 3. Hallelujah!
Lots of new functionality is packed under the hood of the seemingly familiar user interface. You can find a very detailed overview of the new features in Victoria Bampton’s blog.
One of the new features is the new Publish Services, a very important addition to Lightroom, which offers a completely new approach to the way we get our photos to online photo labs and photo galleries. You can learn about Publish Services from Jeffrey Friedl’s Article. Even though the article is focused primarily on his Export-to-Flickr Plug-in, it provides a very good general coverage of Publish Services and explains how you configure and use them.
For the last few months I’ve been learning the new concept and the new API that goes with it. In the next few days I am planning to release an update for my MobileMe Gallery Plug-in that will enable support for Publish Services. Also, other plug-ins will be updated to provide better support for Lightroom 3, and most of them will also support Publish Services!
However, there is a fine print!
Considering the amount of time and sweat that went into the development and integration with the new API, I am planning to open support for Publish Services only to registered users.

MobileMe Plug-in version 1.8 offers more features
by Vlad on Mar.14, 2010, under MobileMe Gallery
Version 1.8 is available for download.
Now you can specify how to handle duplicate photo uploads when you export to an existing album. The default method is to re-upload all of the selected photos, which may create duplicates if some of the selected photos were previously uploaded. You can also choose to skip or replace previously uploaded copies.
Another important addition is the option to override the default MobileMe Gallery sorting. MobileMe sorts photos in they order they were added, however, in the reverse order, so most recently added photos appear at the beginning of the album. The new option allows you to enforce natural ordering of uploaded photos, as they are ordered in the filmstrip. Also, when you add more photos to an album, they appear at the end of the album.
The new options can be found under the MobileMe Gallery Options section in the Export dialog:

Both these features are available only to registered users.
