This update features many fixes and also implements several plugin-specific metadata fields for keeping track of photos uploaded via the MobileMe plug-in. These fields store the upload status, date and time of the latest upload, and the direct URL to access the exported photo at MobileMe. You can access these fields in library filters, view them in the metadata browser (as “MobileMe Metadata” tagset) and in smart collection filters.

Version 1.22.0 is available for download.

This release offers a number of advanced features for synchronizing albums on MobileMe with your Lightroom catalog. Now you can import existing albums into your MobileMe publish service and populate them with previously uploaded photos.

The new version also allows you to clear the “Modified to Re-Publish” flag or synchronize metadata, i.e. upload only titles and captions for selected photos. Now you can even select any photo in an album and make it the album cover.

To access these features, navigator File > Plug-in Extras > MobileMe Gallery Export Plug-in Extras from the main menu. I am planning to post a detailed description of the advanced features in the next couple of days.

The new version also provides support for video file uploads (maximum size is 100 MB per single file). Note, MobileMe accepts only a handful of video formats, make sure your video is in one of the supported formats, otherwise the upload will be rejected.

I am excited to announce the official release of version 1.21.2.

This version had been in beta for almost 2 months. I am very pleased there were only a few issues; each addressed quickly and fixed on the first attempt.

If you are still running version 1.20 you should check out the plug-in home page for a long list of improvements and new features.

If you are were running the beta version, you should upgrade anyway – there are a couple of additional fixes in this release (including a fix for the autoupdate feature). There should be no excuses for running an older version!

After a long period of intensive development I am happy to announce version 1.21.1 BETA.

This is a beta version of the plugin, meaning I have thoroughly tested every bit of the new functionality, however I need it tested by other users in different scenarios.

This version includes a large number of new features and improvements (see the plug-in’s home page for a complete version history). There are a couple of changes that deserve to be mentioned separately:

1. Now the plug-in can automatically update itself. You still need to install version 1.21.1 as described on the Installation Instructions page, however any subsequent update should apply itself automatically when you click the “Download the Update” button in the “Checking for Updates” dialog.

2. The plug-in now supports custom sorting in published collections. Until now, photos in published collections followed the “User Order”, which turns out insufficient because some users rely on different types of sorting (by capture time, by edit time, etc), and most importantly because user order is not available for smart collections. So now you have your choice of various sort options  when editing album settings.

3. The plug-in now allows you to export photos in AdobeRGB and ProPhoto RGB color spaces, however MobileMe display photos in sRGB color space anyway. These extended color spaces are available only for original photos downloaded via the “Download” function in the MobileMe Gallery – I am referring to the “Download this photo” and “Download a compressed file of this album” buttons in the visitor’s interface.

Version 1.20.8 is available for download.

For the last couple of days the MobileMe server has been acting quite erratically – every now and then it  would return a “Can’t connect to application instance” error in response to legitimate requests, and that has been causing issues with using the plug-in. In this update I implemented a workaround for the error.

This update fixes a number of errors, but most importantly, it fixes the error with some published collections becoming password-protected after re-publishing.
